Recycling a Company Computer
Purpose
To ensure any dead or unusable company computer is fully removed from all management and security platforms before recycling.
1. Confirm the Computer Is Unusable
Physically check the computer
Verify that it does not power on or cannot be used anymore

Add a note in the ticket
2. Remove the Device From All Systems
2a. Huntress
Log in to Huntress
Search for the device
Remove or deactivate the agent
Confirm the device no longer appears in the Huntress device list
2b. Microsoft Intune
Go to Intune Admin Center
Search for the device
Select Wipe if it can accept commands
After wipe is sent (or skipped), select Delete
Confirm the device is removed from the Intune device list
2c. Microsoft Entra ID
Go to Entra Admin Center
Open Devices
Search for the device
Select Delete
Confirm it no longer appears in the tenant’s device list
2d. Zoho
Search for the device in the Zoho computer list
Select Delete
Confirm it is removed from Zoho
3. Physically Recycle the Computer
Remove any asset labels
Place the computer into the designated e-waste bin

4. Update Inventory
Update your internal inventory or asset tracking file
Mark the device as Recycled
Add the date of recycling
Add any relevant notes
